Tour Plan
Pick up from hotel or airport at 0900 hrs in the morning. Hop into your 4x4 landcruiser or safari van for the 3 hour drive to Lake Naivasha. Along the way, you will get to enjoy the scenic farms of the central highlands and also take in the dramatic landforms of the Rift Valley escarpment. Your estimated time of arrival should be in time for lunch. You will arrive at your preferred lodge/camp where you will be welcomed with a warm meal and refreshments. After lunch, head out to Lake Naivasha and enjoy an amazing boat ride where you will get to see hippos bathing as you sail across the lake. Our next stop will be at the crescent island where you will have a guided walking safari. The delightful park offers zebras, wildebeests, waterbucks and gazelles. This is the best way to get close to these gently grazing animals. After the walking safari you will be escorted back to the lake for another boat ride where our tour guide will be waiting to take you back to your hotel/camp
Wake up to the sounds of chirping birds, fresh air and breathtaking views as you enjoy your breakfast before checking out of the lodge/hotel and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park also known as the pink lake due to its large number of pelicans and flamingos. Upon arrival, you are certain to be delighted by the parks beauty which includes waterfalls, acacia forests, rocky peaks and alkaline lakes. Enjoy a short game drive as you head to your camp/lodge for check in. After lunch and refreshments, head out for a game game. Expect to see zebras, antellopes, bufalloes and lions. Lake Nakuru also boasts as the home to the endagered white rhino. The birdlife is abundant as well, expect to see storks, pelicans, herons and light coloured dazzling flamingoes adorning the lake front. Later on after sunset drive back to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Early in the morning after breakfast check out of the camp/lodge with one last game drive as you head to the exit gate. The drive from Lake nakuru to Maasai mara is approximately 5 hours and along the way you will enjoy the beautiful landscapes before arriving in the Mara at noon and in time for lunch. Check in at the camp/lodge of your choice and have lunch accompanied by some relaxation. Later, head out for an evening game drive. Masai Mara is well known for it’s vast wildlife range including elephants, lions, cheetahs, hippos and many more. After the evening game drive, you will head back to your camp/lodge for overnight stay.Â
(Accomodation is dependent on your prefered package. We are however happy to recommend top notch lodges/camps upon inquiry)
(NB - The morning game drive at Lake Nakuru National park is only done when staying inside the park)
Early in the morning after breakfast, you will leave the camp with packed lunch i.e food in take away boxes. This is because you will spend the whole day in the park in search of animals like lions, gazelles, zebras, giraffes, and many more. Depending on your time of visit (July-September) you should witness the Great Wildebeest Migration which is a natural movement of over 3 million grazers from Tanzanias Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara through the Mara river. This is also the sole reason why most tourists prefer visiting through this time of the year.Â
Optional side note: We have the cultural visit which is a visit to the Masai community within the park, this visit includes interaction with the local community, learning about the Masai culture, customs, norms and also get to experience their cultural dance. Also note that is done at an extra fee.Â
After an amazing full day game drive, head back to your camp/lodge for an overnight stay.
Enjoy your last breakfast at the camp/lodge and prepare to leave the Mara. You will have a small game drive enroute and get a chance to spot the resident wildlife one last time. After exiting the park on your way to Nairobi, you will have one last stop for a quick lunch before your drop off at a Nairobi hotel or Airport.Â
